The creativity (and determination) of some people never cease to amaze me.  I always found annotations kind of weird but this is a very creative use of it!

Using over 100 individual stop motion YouTube videos and annotations, you can play a simple Street Fighter game.  You gotta admire the amount of time spent making all these videos and putting the correct annotations on each one of them!

I can see this opening the door for a new genre of “Choose Your Own Adventure” YouTube videos!

To play the game, make sure you open the link in a new window since the embedded version does not support annotations.

Last week when I was taking the bus in London, Ontario (not London, England), I noticed that my bus was seasonally painted and featured a big Tux (the Linux penguin) on the front hiding amongst other not nearly as cool penguins!

Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera with me at the time but someone from comp.os.linux.advocacy managed to snap a picture of it!

I’m not sure as to the attributions required for using Tux in public advertising but I’m sure somebody is laughing quietly to themselves knowing bus drivers are unwittingly spreading OSS.

Perhaps a distant relative to the Firefox bus?

In what is perhaps the highest joke density of any Simpsons episode ever, they poke fun at the seemingly could-do-no-wrong Apple. Or in this case, mApple.

No other cartoon can express more accurately how I feel about their whole empire!

I saw this picture and couldn’t resist posting it.  I literally fell off my chair from laughing!  If you’ve been living under a rock, Michael Phelps is the US Olympic Hero who won 8 gold medals in swimming and is now currently the person with the most number of gold medals in history.

With the Beijing 2008 Olympics coming to a close, it was also nice to see that the closing ceremonies were almost as spectacular as the opening ceremonies!

The opening ceremonies for the Beijing 2008 Olympic games were spectacular and went off without a hitch. With over 15,000 performers and 90,000 audience members, it was pretty incredible.

Many people were there including many world leaders, celebrities and of course the athletes.  And it looks like the dark lord Sauron (from Lord of the Rings) was watching as well!

Lets see if our athletes are brave enough to try some of Beijing’s delicacies… go Team Canada!
