Dining in the Heavens

Dinner in the Sky is a company takes a simple concept and flies with it, literally. Although not directly related to web development, it really is a great example of clever marketing and how to really target a niche.
You can enjoy dinner suspended 50 meters (164 feet) in the air. At well over $10,000 per meal, it is not exactly cheap but is definitely a rich experience.
That’s not all, you can have a live band suspended beside your table and the location is up to you as well! An excerpt from the site:
Dinner in the Sky is an event that can be held anywhere (golf course, public place, race track, castle, vineyard, historical site…) …
Dinner in the Sky may include a second crane with a platform (or more if desired) at the same height as the table, for entertainment such as music, or presentations (i.e. a car).
I know where I want my next business meeting

How do they lift everyone up?
On a crane? How much does it cost?
its really interested dining and costly of course… never imagine that i will be having my meal on tat situation… perhaps next time when i m rich..
The height of conspicuous consumption!
Wow, that is pretty spectacular!! Must get a really nice view
Quite a creative idea. I can’t see any straps to hold the people. I would’nt want to eat at that height with nothing under my feet for support.
wtf! this is awesome.. digg this story man.. digg!
Brilliant idea. Sure to appeal to those who can afford it and love being in the news.
I know you mentioned “target a niche”….but exactly WHAT niche is that!? haha I can’t imagine sitting in a meeting trying to think up new business plans and going “How about we lift people 150ft in the air for dinner?”.
I’m sure it would be a nice experience but there are better things to spend 10K on…
What about the waiter? How they reached there?
They are nothing but crazy. ( If I would get the chance I’ll be one of them there is no doubt. As I didn’t get the chance so they are crazy.)
I saw this on TV, it looked awesome! Granted, the price is a little much, but I have to congratulate the guy behind the idea!
Its a fantastic thread, thanks for sharing, my next business lunch is booked!
What an excited dinner, that will sure be a good experience for me without heart-attack gurus,
Where will the madness end, next thing you know they will be offering a free bungee jump to finish off the experience!

Its really interesting to have dinner at such height but I really can’t imagine to splurge such huge amount for just sake of a dinner.

Wow thats great dinner. I wish i could also be there in the row one among them one day. Surely i will be in there one day.
Good idea, but what if you need to visit the bathroom? Your stuck!!
Wow thats a very cool one, I wonder how can we eat there? Birds will attack the food dont they? And I have some fairness in hight so dont ask me to go over ther
I got such a kick out of Dinner in the Sky that I added 2 links to it from my blog: http://soyouwanttobeabanquetmanager.blogspot.com
The only thing is, no way would I ever work THAT party!
Now thats an experience worth having. Give some more details please.
Guys, first know your woman’s fears before deciding to surprise her with dinner @ this restaurant. Lol!
What a creative business concept. Imagine dining in the sky. Wow! That’s really cool! But in able for you to experience that, you’ll have to spend a lot. Besides, is it safe? How high does it go? I guess this experience is not advisable for those who have heart problems….
Well this is an amazing idea, but I wouldnt really try my luck with this. I would prefer to starve than having food like this.
But sure that this is a great thing for people who really dont get scared of the heights.
This is awesome and would be a fantastic place to host a corporate meeting.
Excellent post.
