Yesterday marks the release of the newest version of the popular Mozilla web-browser, Firefox 3 and it is also Download Day. Help Mozilla set a Guinness World Record for the most number of downloads in 24 hours by downloading your free copy of Firefox 3!
The Mozilla site was inaccessible yesterday but is working fine now. You have a little over 3 hours since the time of this post to download to be counted towards the World Record (until 1pm EST). If you miss it, don’t worry. I’m sure they (and you) will still appreciate the excellent software that has been a front runner for open source all these years.
My favorite thing about Firefox 3 is the new title bar now called the “Smart Location Bar” or “Awesome Bar” that is smart enough to adjust to your habits and preferences as you use it. No longer is it a simple collection of previous addresses you’ve visited. It now includes a lot more detail and is made much more useful since it can second as the “History Tab”. You can also delete pages from history by deleting it from your title bar!
