Flash Content Can Now Be Crawled

Just today, Adobe announced that flash files will be able to be crawled by search engines. For the longest time, one big disadvantage of making an entire site (or even just parts of a site) in flash is that the content is entirely embedded in the .swf file and completely invisible to search engines. This meant users could not find your content via search engines.
Good or bad?
This announcement may be good or bad news depending on whether or not you use Flash. If you’re a Flash user, this means you no longer have to use hacks to duplicate your content to make it visible to search engines. But if you don’t use Flash, then your search engine competition just got a bit tougher!
With well over 90% of users having Flash-enabled browsers, expect to see the number of pure-Flash sites jump up after this annoucement.
Update: Google has just launched a flash crawling algorithm to their search.
