Sorry for the lack of updates the past few days, work’s been pretty hectic.

After reading my post on GPUs, mediatemple has contacted me to form a partnership so we can work out ways to reduce GPU consumption with particular attention paid to WordPress. This is useful for ANY wordpress user with ANY host (even if you are your own host). By reducing CPU usage by wordpress, you go a long way towards saving money, bandwidth and CPU resources (don’t want to piss off your host or other users you may share a user with!). It will also help deter those dreaded error messages we see much too often, for example, “Mysql/wordpress error – Database down” or “This user has exceeded its CPU resources, please contact the webmaster“.

In addition to wp-cache I mentioned before, look for future updates on other ways to save resources (thus saving money!)
