Handcuffs - Escape that! Not enough time today to write a full blog post so let’s have a contest! With the new design of my blog, I have incorporated 4 different “escapes” into the theme. See if you can find them all! The first person to find all four gets a free 125×125 ad spot for 3 months!

Remember, 4 different types of escapes… that’s the only hint you’re going to get! First comment listing all 4 wins!

Let the games begin!

Update: Congratulations to Joyce Badu.

Answer to contest:

  1. Escape in it’s regular usage in the post.
  2. Eat Sleep Code (ESC)
  3. The backslashes “escaping” the spaces in the blog title
  4. Esc key as favicon on the site

Bonus answer… the background color of the site is set to #1B1B1B. 1B is the hex representation of the ASCII value of Esc. Didn’t expect anyone to get this one ;)

  1. Mate, what do you mean ‘different’? I can see four escapes. Two in your title and two in your logo but they are all escaping the space.

oo.. seems it’s a game or exactly a contest …
I’m sorry for my last comment, please remove it …

  3. MR-Gee says:

    I found at least 50 escapes :)
If you mean the word containing “escape”:
The title, The image in the post, In all the bookmark links at the bottom of the post, In the RSS feed url, In trackback url, Another RSS url, Comment form hidden redirect_to attribute, In the latest posts in the sidebar, In the translate page options etc…
Am I right or I should search in other pages too? :D

  4. MR-Gee says:

Wait a minute… can it be connected with the PHP escape string function? You escape the URL in the social bookmarking buttons right? This must be one of the answers. :)

  5. Joyce Babu says:

I found two of them :) . Still hunting for the other two :( .

  6. Jon Lee says:

Escaping the space would be one escape… need to find 4 different uses of the word “escape”

  7. Jon Lee says:

Hahah I should have specified, not the actual word “Escape” but a representation of it.

  8. Jon Lee says:

Ehhh that’s too complicated, plus I’m not using the escape function :)

  9. Joyce Babu says:

    Check this
    1. You have used the word escape in this post
    2. There is an escape key in your favicon
    3. You have used backslashes for escaping space in eat \ sleep \ code
    4. Finally, you have underlined the first characters of eat, sleep and code. Which together becomes the shortform of escape, ie ‘Esc’.

  10. Jon Lee says:

    DING DING DING winner!
Send me your 125×125 button and I’ll put it up!

  11. Good for you Joyce Babu, you are smart! Are you Indian?

  12. Damn it, I was using IE and the favicon didn’t show up.. otherwise that would have been obvious! stupid IE

never mind. congrats to joyce :)

  13. MR-Gee says:

Darn I must be too dumb. :)

  14. Joyce Babu says:

    Wow! Thanks :-)

    Do you accept flash buttons?

  15. Joyce Babu says:

Thanks for the compliment :-) . Yes, I am Indian.

Actually, I had identified the escape hidden in eat\ sleep\ code long back.
And I found the favicon soon after reading about the contest.
Using backslashes to escape space was something that I missed.
The last one was a simple guess.

  16. MR-Gee you’re not the only one who feels that way, technology overwhelms me way to often.

  17. Jon Lee says:

Flash buttons? I’d rather not.. animated gifs are fine though!
