Money4Banners LogoLast week I mentioned a banner publisher program that pays you a flat rate of $10 a month to put a banner on any 3 pages of your site. Well it seems as if that company has been going through a rebranding spree.

Bucks4Banners has apparently been sold and the old owners are moving everyone to their new networks which goes by (at least) two different names: Money4Banners.com and TheAdNetwork.co.uk.

What’s the Difference?
TheAdNetwork LogoBoth of these sites have pretty much the same design and layout but they have two different payout methods. Money4Banners is similar to the old method but at a lower payout, paying $10 upon sign-up and $5 per month for each site that you have running the ads (instead of $20 and $10 respectively).

TheAdNetwork on the other hand, pays $80 for sign-up with an agreement that you run the ads for at least 6 months. If you take down the ads before 6 months, they will ask for a refund of their money back. The good thing is, they pay you up front so there isn’t a worry about not being paid. This actually works out to be much more than Money4Banners but I’m not sure what happens after the 6 months are up.

So Is it a Scam?
The fact that this company is starting up several smaller sites that do pretty much the same thing sounds really sketchy to me. However, I did receive a Paypal payment today from them for the time I was with Bucks4Banners. I got a $20 sign-up bonus, $20 for one referral and $10 for keeping the ad up on my site for barely two weeks — a grand total of $50 as promised (not bad for a dormant site!).

Also, I’ve read that TheAdNetwork is already paying out the promised $80 to some people that have already signed up so that’s good news.

Try it Out – But be careful
Their registration process does not require you to fill out any financial information which is comforting. However, when implementing the ad code, you have the option of static HTML or dynamic PHP. I highly recommend you use static HTML to eliminate the risk of malicious code injection. Although these guys are paying out, I wouldn’t trust them with server-side code on my server until they have built up a solid reputation.
