Another month, another monthly update. Here were the goals I set last month:
- Increase RSS Subscribers over 175
Well looks like I shattered this record with almost 300 subscribers (with the help of my evil RSS boosting method). I kind of feel like I’m cheating, although before implementing this method I was on my way to surpassing 175 anyway so I don’t feel half bad. - Increase Alexa ranking to over 90,000
I accomplished this goal as well with a comfortable margin. I’m currently at 83,584. And here I was thinking I was being too ambitious with 90,000. - Boost Technorati ranking into the top 10,000.
Yup, no worries, 6972! Although competition seems to be getting pretty stiff. I’m no longer on a constant rise – two steps forward, one step back. - Maintain at least a post a day.
So close! I forgot to post one day (I was really tired and slept straight through until the morning). - Earn at least $50 from ReviewMe and Text-Link-Ads.
In terms of sales, I only sold one post level TLA ad for $1.83. Luckily, I made one referral on each and at $25 a piece, it brings the grand total up to $51.83. Perhaps this time I should be more strict and not count affiliate income. - Participate in other blogs
I’ve finally had some free time to expand my blog network but in the process, I seem to have forgotten about some of the old regular blogs. Rest assurred, I have everyone on RSS and read *every single post* you write.
In terms of traffic, a few articles kept my average pretty high at over a thousand visitors a day thanks in part to digg, StumbleUpon and John Chow.
Other Accomplishments
- My Showoff Rankings widget seems to be doing pretty well! Over 50 sites are using it now and I can only see that number going up from here on out.
- I am the 32nd most popular blog on Technorati. I don’t think I’ll be going up any further as the Technorati fave train has passed but if you haven’t yet, add me to your Technorati favorites!
- I was asked to write my first sponsored post by Ades about his wonderful little color picking tool.
Goals for June 2007
- Increase Alexa ranking into top 70,000.
- Increase RSS readership above 250.
- Increase Technorati ranking into the top 6,000.
- Maintain a post a day!
- Earn at least $50 (non-affiliate) from Text-link-ads and Review-me.
- Publicly launch an interesting little site I’ve been working on… stay tuned!
- Write some more product reviews – I have so many products I’d like to talk about and so little time to write up a nice detailed review!
- Write more about Ruby on Rails – I’m totally in love with Ruby on Rails and I wish to share this love with everyone!
