Starcraft 2 – Game Play Footage

This may have nothing to do with web development, but growing up, Starcraft was one of my favorite games. It wasn’t uncommon for me and my friends to stay up all night playing. Starcraft is arguably the most balanced and most popular real time strategy (RTS) game ever. It is hard to believe how popular it is but in Starcraft capital of the world (Korea), games are broadcasted on TV and top players earn millions playing in tournaments attended by thousands.
Finally, almost 10 years later, Blizzard has released the follow-up: Starcraft II. Not a very creative name but I’m not complaining! I’m sure some of you fellow Starcraft fans have seen the CGI trailer already so here are some clips of actual gameplay footage that is not yet released on the Blizzard site (commentary is in English but in-game text is in Korean).

Looks like a lot of fun! Can’t wait to try it out! Now if they release Diablo 3 my life would be complete!

This looks really great. I’ve been playing warcraft since it’s come out, but the new StarCraft looks really sweet. At some points its like watching a movie theatre movie.
I loved the first Star Craft. Do you think they’ll create an online “World of Star Craft”?
I don’t think they will.. WoW is already bringing in the big bucks for them, no need to create competitionfor themselves

Yeah StarCraft was, no is still the best RTS game hands down… StarCraft 2 will take competitive online gaming to the next level.

Starcraft was great. Really looking forward to starcraft 2.
The only thing is I’m really hoping they don’t mess up the gameplay balance by adding in superweapons like the mothership or thor. It has no place in serious RTS gaming, IMO.
