TheAdNetwork – Money just keeps on coming in!

A couple months ago I discussed a way of monetizing dormant sites using an ad network called Bucks4Banners that allows you to put their banners on any 3 pages of your site for a flat-rate payout of $10 a month. The ad network looked very seedy at first with an improperly formatted website and improperly formatted ads.
In a follow-up post, I mentioned how the company had changed their name and branched off into two other sites that essentially do the same thing — Money4Banners and TheAdNetwork. Although this was another seedy move, the good news was I got paid that month and more than expected! I got $80 deposited into my Paypal account in August.

Since then I had placed the ads on a few more sites and I got $110 for the month of September alone. Granted, it would take a very large volume of sites to make an exceptional profit from this but considering that prior to this, these dormant sites of mine were making $5 maybe $10 a month each from Adsense ads, I’d say this is a very welcome improvement!
I’ve been asked by some readers: “Exactly how many sites do you have?”
The answer: I have over 20 sites hosted on my dedicated-virutal server. A lot of them get very little traffic but a few of them get decent amounts. I tend to have a bad (or maybe good) habit of coming up with an idea for a quick and stupid site, putting it up in a few days and then let it sit.
With regular ad networks, my sites that get low traffic (under 50 visitors a day) would probably not be accepted. So for me, even though this program doesn’t pay much ($5-10 a month), it will at least offset the domain name and server cost. It also pays for a nice dinner once in a while
