Following in suit with John Chow and Jason (from JaKelDaily), I’ve decided to select a phrase to use as anchor text. This way, it will increase my position when someone searches that particular phrase in a search engine.
John selected make money online as his anchor text, while Jason selected a similar make money anchor text. I decided to be more ambitious and use the phrase “Web Development“. My blog was originally supposed to be about web development – and it still is – but I find I’m blogging about a much wider range of topics, like modding a keyboard for web development. Also, I hardly use that phrase anywhere! So I’ve changed the Web category to the Web Development category, managed to squeeze in a bunch of links into this post using that phrase and change the description of my blog too!
Currently… my site isn’t listed in a Google search for “Web development” That will soon change though. I know it is a very popular search term with tons of competition, so my goal is to make it to the first page (top 10 results) by this time next year.
I’ll need your help! If you’re going to link to my blog, try to have “Web Development” somewhere in the anchor text, if that isn’t possible, then try to have it somewhere near the link. Of course, I’m not forcing anyone to do it but it’ll be very much appreciated!
I’ll keep track of my Google search ranking over the next few weeks and report on how well this has worked!

Haha…I am not going to be too ambitious yet until I can get more traffic, so for the mean time I am going for “Hopeless Romantic” since I think I am one and I write about dating and it would be so fun to tell a girl that my site is ranked #1 on google for the phrase “Hopeless Romantic”!!!!

I’m afraid ‘web development’ is rather too competitive to elbow in. I’d go with more vertical phrases like ‘weird developer’ and such…haha
There is more reason to comment than ever before!
